Yantai Steel Pipe Plant, Shandong, a subsidiary company of Laiwu Steel Group, Ltd., is one of the key manufacturers specializing in seamless steel pipes and tubes in China. Founded in 1958 and located in urban area of Yantai city, it covers floor space of 169,000 square meters. Up to now, the number of our staff is 1,322, including more than 228 engineers and technicians. Beijing Grand Honour Management System Certification Co., Ltd. certifies that our quality management system is in conformity with GB/T 19001-2000-ISO 9001:2000 standard. China Classification Society, Lloyd''s Register, Det Norske Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping and Germanischer Lloyd have respectively given us the approval of producing seamless steel pipes and tubes for ships. American Petroleum Institute (API) grants to us a non-exclusive non-transferable license to use the official API Monogram on the products which are made in accordance with the API Spec 5CT and API Spec 5L. More than 300,000 metric tons, approximate to 10 varieties and 1,000 sizes, of seamless steel pipes and tubes are manufactured annually. They are 6mm to 168mm in outside diameter and 1mm to 25mm in wall thickness and are in conformity with the requirements of the national or international standards, such as GB 5310-1995, GB 3087-1999, GB/T 8162-1999, GB/T 8163-1999, GB/T 5312-1999, GB 9948-88, GB 17396-1988, ASTM A53, ASTM A106, BS 1387, JIS G3455, JIS G3454, API Spec 5CT, API Spec 5L, ASME SA-210, and ASME SA-213. They can served for high pressure boilers, for low and medium pressure boilers, for structural purposes, for ships, for petroleum cracking, for high-pressure chemical fertilizer equipments, for hydraulic pillar services, and for diesel engines. Because of very good quality, some kinds of them, for example, seamless steel pipes and tubes for low and medium pressure boiler, for structural purposes and cold-drawn precision seamless steel tubes, have been awarded as the Excellent Quality Products by the state, the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry and Shandong Province Government respectively. The pipes and tubes for high pressure boiler and for low and medium pressure boiler have been given Golden Cup Prize for their actual quality which is in same level with the product manufactured by developed countries. Furthermore, State General Administration of the PRC for Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine exempts all of our pipes and tubes from quality surveillance inspection. There are hot-rolling and cold-drawn production lines. The hot-rolling production line is composed of one piercing mill, one rolling mill, two reelers, one set of sizing mill and all sets of auxiliary equipments. About 170,000 metric tons of carbon or low alloy steel pipes and tubes, made by the hot-rolling production line, are 57mm to 168mm in outside diameter and 3.5mm to 25mm in wall thickness. The cold-drawn production line is made up of three piercing mills which are 114,76 and 50 mill in size, eleven cold-drawn machines, two hydromantic-powered cold-drawn machines, four furnaces for heat treatment and all sets of auxiliary equipments. About 130,000 metric tons of carbon or low alloy steel pipes and tubes, made by the cold-drawn production line, are from 6mm to 159mm in outside diameter and 1mm to 14mm in wall thickness and up to 13m long.
